The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that it has completed restructuring of its regional operations, with 10 offices now identified by geographic location rather than with a number. The change includes the creation of a new region in Birmingham, AL, to serve the Southeast and an expanded San Francisco Region covering Western states and Pacific Island territories.
The restructuring of regional offices is intended to create a much stronger presence in the Southeast and better serve communities across the country. The agency expects office restructuring to reduce its response time to complaints, fatalities, imminent danger and other significant events.
