Maria has over 20 years of experience building and leading finance teams in complex national and multinational companies. Prior to joining WorkCare, she was the Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller for a multinational environmental engineering group, where she had an active role in taking the company through a successful initial public offering. Before moving to the environmental industry, she held several management and controller positions in the aerospace industry. A native of Brazil, she started her career at Deloitte in its São Paulo office. Maria has a law degree from PUC/SP Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo with a concentration in corporate law and economics, and she is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association. She moved from Brazil to the U.S. to pursue her work in the aerospace industry. Maria lives with her husband and son in Orange County, Calif., where she enjoys painting as a hobby and weekend bike rides.

Prior to joining WorkCare, she has held senior executive roles with prominent employment screening and biotech firms, where she was instrumental in scaling revenue streams and implementing cutting-edge solutions.
